The Location

Surrounded by peaceful meadows and woodland, Lodge Barn is ideally situated for a Family (or Families) escaping the pace of modern day life. South Norfolk boasts some of the most rural countryside in England and you will be sure to find plenty to do in the surrounding area.

The local market town of Diss was the birthplace to Poet Laureate John Skelton and described by Sir John Betjiman as his favourite English market town. It has a wealth of historic buildings including the 13th Century church of St. Mary's, the Corn Hall and the Marketplace. It has an award winning Museum and a six acre lake known as The Mere.

If peace and quiet is something you cherish on your holidays then look no further than The Lodge Barn - our road is even designated an official quiet lane!

History of Lodge Barn

For over 400 hundred years Lodge Farm has been an integral part of the South Norfolk agricultural community. Lodge Barn was built in the early 19th Century and the associated buildings are earlier from the 17th Century. In recent years the decline in agriculture has brought about a diminishing need to use the Grade II listed Farm Buildings for their intended purpose. In 2004 the Owners made the decision to convert the Barn into Holiday Accommodation.
